1. Volunteering your Time and Skills:

Some Basic Information on Staffing the Volunteer Shifts at Museum:

The usual shift is 11am to 2.30pm, and 2.30 to 6pm. But any time you are available to give is a bonus. Also, feel free to ‘overlap’ on your shifts you want.

• Help with staffing the Museum at opening times
• Helping to keep the displays relevant and up-to-date
• Cleaning, Maintenance, Decorating etc
• Organise, plan and prepare events / Assist at events on the night / day
• Etc…

Or ask one of the organisers in person at the Museum.
 
Examples further tasks that will be useful to us:

• Publicise the museum and its events
• Help to develop the website and social media; keeping them up to date
• Organising group visits to museum
• Help to with fundraising activities, both to help to maintain the museum and for events
• Explore funding options, grants etc.
• Linking the museum to Palestine-related activities in Bristol
• Linking museum to organisations in Palestine

Some Basic Information on Staffing the Volunteer Shifts at Museum:

The usual shift is 11am to 2.30pm, and 2.30 to 6pm, but any time you are available to give is a bonus.

Also, feel free to ‘overlap’ on your shifts you want.  If you’re not down for shift one weekend, then don’t let that stop you from going down and helping out if you are free. There is always an experienced volunteer on shift who can show you the ropes.

Some of the things that we ask volunteers to do are:

Welcome visitors & introduce the Museum displays, suggest they sign up to our email list, encourage them to take leaflets, sell Palestinian products and goods, show films, set up the entrance, make sure it looks good and bring signs inside at end of day. If there are two of you, or if there are no visitors inside, you can stand outside and encourage passers-by to come in. That’s quite fun.

We will recognise your work as a volunteer, and can accredit a certificate or reference on request.

2. Help with Events

We hold events (talks, film nights etc) regularly.

If you are interested in helping with event management in any way, do get in touch.

3. Donations

We are run entirely by volunteers. Donations help us to contribute to our running costs for the building, events and so on, and are gratefully received. (More details on this will follow).
