2016: Storytelling by Sabrin Hasbun, with Accousic Music (A Palestinian Journey)

15th October 2016:

Sabrin Hasbun is a Palestinian-Italian travel writer and blogger. She gave some fascinating readings, from the book she’s currently writing about some of her experiences whilst travelling in Palestine, and also living here in the UK.

We were also joined by two local musicians; Richard on accordion and Helen on flute, who performed some beautiful musical interludes in the breaks between readings.

For some photos and more details...

A bit more about Sabrin – taken from her own words:

“Being the daughter of dual heritage parents, I have always had to mediate between two cultures, and every day for me is a travel from one nationality to the other. This is surely the main thing that has influenced my love for travelling and writing. Italy and Palestine are my two countries and my main writing focus.”

A regular journalist of This Week in Palestine (http://thisweekinpalestine.com), famous monthly magazine in the Middle-East. She wrote a book in collaboration with Professor Stefano Brugnolo from Pisa Univeristy, about the contradictions inside colonial and post-colonial travel writing.
